Red flag symptoms that may be associated with an underlying cancer such as bleeding or the identification of an ovarian abnormality after the menopause require urgent referral and investigation.

Investigation by endometrial biopsy and ultrasound can be organised urgently with availability of MRI, CT and PET scan if required.
